Basics
We believe that StaircaseRED's MPC/HB is a “Best in Class” analytical software tool that allows a detailed, oriented approach to determining the FEASIBILITY of a proposed real estate development project.
MPC/HB covers real estate development projects from:
100,000 acre master planned communities involving up to 40 multi-home builder subdivisions and up to 12 different land uses for income properties,
Land Development only,
Mixed Use development, and
Single income property feasibility analysis
MPC/HB provides a guided tour up the staircase toward establishing “should this project be developed? Is it feasible?”
While we know the mission is of great importance (solving the riddle of Feasibility), there is no reason the travel shouldn’t be enjoyable. MPC/HB software has a certain built in “entertainment” quality about it.
We encourage the User to work in tandem with MPC/HB software throughout the creation of a development feasibility study asking:
Why this?
What about that?
When these events converge, then what?
MPC/HB goes long and deep in dealing with the “what if” scenarios of a planned real estate development.
MPC/HB offers a guided and controlling experience
As we engineered MPC/HB, our mission statement became: “Leave nothing of even slight importance out.”
That said, the Program includes a lot of options where User may elect to have MPC/HB take on the data input task through its “normal solution algorithms”.
MPC/HB is designed so every data input is made either by User, or when the option is offered, by MPC/HB.
The initial setup of a project follows MPC/HB’s designed route through the data input process. There are places where User may elect to pass by and come back later in the process.
That is, as long as the Program agrees. MPC/HB has an ornery side to it and will not allow User to ignore program requirements or violate program constraints.
MPC/HB is both a friendly and stern guide. It lets User know when a necessary step is being circumvented (it will direct User to what is next) and when User attempts an input that MPC considers “out of range” with the Program’s design limits, MPC/HB will prevent the input and offer User acceptable options.
Granular Inputs
When a project has received its initial setup, User undoubtedly will want to go back through and do some micro surgery on the original inputs.
As the “fine tuning” occurs, numerous reports and statements are available for On-screen viewing and/or printing.
When questions arise, User Assistance is available in several forms:
On-screen buttons - click to open messages related to the triggering event.
“Go Find It” is a select-and-go list that accesses over 140 program related topics with detailed explanations including, in many instances, travel to the related data input screen.
Topical User Guides accessed by a button click – All data input screens have a User Guide access button on the screen’s Navigator.
Master User Guide – This Program Manual covers all data input screens. Plus, every event we encountered while developing MPC/HB is addressed in explanatory detail. Our Beta users will give us reason to add to the Topical and Master User Guides.
And, MPC/HB will stick its nose into a matter by putting a message on the screen to assist User in determining the cause of an event and frequently offers an optimal solution.
The MPC/HB methodology of building a feasibility solution is designed to enable User to see the strengths and weaknesses in a proposed project as the analysis unfolds.
Too, MPC/HB is designed to assure User’s stakeholders that no stone was left unturned in conducting the feasibility analysis.
It will be clear that the conclusion is well founded.
Help Is Close By
Through a new Project Setup there are places along the way where the MPC/HB Program may stubbornly refuse to grant User the latitude sought. When this occurs, make a note of the issue and continue. The issue may make sense as the journey unfolds.
Later, if the issue remains unacceptable, let us know. There will likely be issues between User and MPC/HB.

Each Income Property ("IP") Suites software is a full feasibility software in its own right. They may be employed by a User in two ways:
Subscribed as a stand-alone application to conduct the feasibility study of a single IP.
Where Developer intends to develop an IP(s) as a component(s) of a proposed Project, one or more of the 12 Income Property Suites programs may be employed (see “Links” under MPC/HB-Topics”).
A maximum Project configuration would consist of:
No limit on acreage.
40 land parcels (“LP”s).
Up to 8 Developer (“DLP”s) that can encompass up to 13,200 homes.
Each DLP can have up to (i) 11 Unit Types, (ii) 150 Homes of each UT, and (iii) 1,650 homes per DLP.
A maximum of 32 LPs sold to 3rd PHBs (under “Input Screens”, see “Third Party Homebuilders”).
12 different types of Income Properties (there could be more than one of a particular IP type).
Note: For each IP selected to be developed as part of a Project, its software program is automatically integrated with the MPC/HB program via linking all timing, pre-development, development, construction, operating, debt financing and liquidation events into the Project’s financial forecasts. The Project provides all IP Equity requirements.
